Nowadays it’s extremely popular to have a modern design. Typical elements of farmhouse style are for example, heavy furniture full of rough edges and raw surfaces, natural materials like wood or stone, warm colours and emphasis put on harsh practicality. As a result farmhouse design interiors can have two kinds of look. They can be either pretty rough and austere (when it’s practicality that dominates) or they can be warm and welcoming (when the focus is placed on natural materials and colours.) What’s interesting, contemporary farmhouse design is a little bit transformed, which means that it’s got a lot of new faces. What are they?

Contemporary farmhouse design is therefore quite an interesting style. On the hand you can find there plenty of natural materials like wood, natural stone like granite and on the other hand it’s very often combined with modern interior elements like for example metallic elements, industrial materials like cement or brick wall and other things like that. Such combination of elements has plenty of interesting applications. Farmhouse design works especially good in case of kitchens. After all, kitchens can benefit from heavy furniture made from natural materials. Think for example about heavy wooden table and set of chairs completed with interesting granite worktop and everything is immersed in white. Of course, there’s plenty of possible designs and kitchen is just one example of modern embodiment of farmhouse style.
